Summary: Helen only knew of one way to get from 1899 to 2011 without disturbing the timeline.

Home of H.G. Wells (London, 1899).

"There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

"Well now. It must be serious if Helen Magnus is quoting Shakespeare," H.G. stated with a grin.

"Please, Helena. You know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't of utmost importance," Helen said, taking hold H.G.'s hands. "You must understand I have no other options."

H.G. narrowed her eyes, glancing down at their joined hands as she twisted her hands to interlace her fingers with Helen's. She looked into her eyes and saw a quiet desperation that struck a familiar chord inside her. Her eyes flickered up to Helen's dark hair and back down again taking in the slight creases near her eyes and mouth. Reaching up to cup her cheek she asked, "As if I would turn you away my dear. How long?" At Helens startled look she clarified, "How long will you need to be bronzed to arrive when you left from?"

Helen chuckled, "You should be proud, it took James nearly twice that to figure it out."

"Yes well, I doubt you let him get quite this close." she said, leaning in and pressing a chaste kiss to Helen's lips to prove her point. She wasn't expecting Helen to pull her close and kiss her back so desperately. If she had needed anymore proof that this was her friend from a distant future she had it in this kiss; Helen had never been so forward with her affections. She pressed in, pushing Helen back till she was pressed against the wall, her hands tangling in her hair.

Helen pulled back with a groan, "We really shouldn't be doing this."

"Of course not, darling. However when have we ever let what we should or shouldn't do dictate our actions?" she asked with a smirk. "Beside I get the impression that I shan't be seeing this version of you for a very long time, and I shall rather enjoy seeing you off with a proper farewell."

As she pulled Helen up the stairs toward her room she simply had to ask, "Was it perhaps one of my inventions that sent you back? Or shall I be denied this answer as well?"

And Helen simply shook her head with a smile.
