Just to give a bit of perspective. We took out the wall between the kitchen and dining rooms. The wall used to be about where the exhaust fan and fridge are now. Also, the jagged edges in the before pics was the doorway between rooms. The fridge wouldn't fit through with the doors on, so we started the destruction a bit early. :D

Ugh. My kitchen is almost finished. I mean the only thing left is putting the doors/shelves on some of the cabinets. I also need to hit up Ikea and get dining room chairs and a bookcase. Plus nifty stuff for the kitchen I don't even need but is really pretty.

I'm really hyper, but completely unmotivated to do anything. I hate it when that happens.

I hate Murphey's Law. This week has been spent doing our kitchen remodel. So far we've ripped down all the drywall, reinsulated, re-ran electrical, and are starting to put the drywall back up. The kitchen cabinets were ordered on the 3/6 and were set to be delivered today. Which would give me 3-4 days to put them together (Ikea cabinets) before install on Sat/Sun.

Well, I didn't get my call last night about my 4 hour delivery window, so I called this morning. Turns out due to a computer glitch, some delivery orders were being pushed back 2 weeks. So now my cabinet delivery date was to be 4/2. We managed to work out a deal since they had everything in-stock, they'll treat it as a new purchase and set up a new delivery for Sat.

Ugh. Gives us a little more time to finish the drywall mudding and painting, but geez. Hubby has to be back at work on the 28th.

I'll post before and after pics once 'after' has happened.

Apparently I mis-blamed my feeling like crap on allergies. I actually had the plague.

Wow, It's times like this I really appreciate how much not-smoking has improved my life. I used to end up with bronchitis every time I had a cold, roughly 3-4 time a year. I haven't had a single case since I quit.

I made a wallpaper yesterday. I got all the pics laid out, got my coloring just right, and *poof* my muse decides it's time to disappear. The 'meat' of the wallpaper left undone, I mean without any text there's no point of reference. Nothing to explain the story behind it.

This sucks. Northern VA is sorta wedged between the mountains to the west and the ocean to the right, our weather is subject to change every time a damn butterfly sneezes. I am, unfortunately, extremely sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Weather goes up, I feel like I'm going to throw up. Temp goes down, I feel like I've been hit by a car.

It seems that they are predicting a nice steady climb up to 70's by Tues. Steady climbing I can handle, but it's when it jumps 20 degrees in about 24 hours that I begin to feel bad. Ugh, yesterday it went up to about 80 in my house during the night since we didn't have our AC set to come on. Oh man, I still feel like crap. We had to open all the windows to level the temp out a bit, and now my allergies are acting up.

The good thing is both my cats and my son seem to really enjoy the open windows. And it is rather nice to air out the house a bit.

I had too, and did anyone else notice a striking similarity between Farscape 2x15 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and SGA 3x06 'The Real World'?

Granted Farscape was funnier... and weirder.

Farscape finally finished downloading. I've been watching season 2 and daaammmmn. I think I missed this entire damn season the first time around. I remember seeing the previews for 'Taking the Stone', and I'm pretty sure I saw the first ep. But I'm up to 2x09 (the body switch one) now and I don't remember any of these.

When does Scorpy get put in Johns head? I remember seeing some of those episodes.

Please to be ignoring the gnasty red carpet that is older then I am. It's being replaced after we redo the kitchen (which starts in 2 weeks *squees*).

Also, does anyone know a good FAQ type of resource for pots and pans? Like one that lays out the pros and cons of of the various styles. Cast iron VS teflon coated sort of thing. I've heard All Clad is a good reliable brand, if a bit expensive. I have a semi-large budget set aside for getting a nice, durable, will last longer then I will set of pans, but it's also the 'oh shit' back up fund for the kitchen.

I dunno, but it would have been nice if someone had left a comment saying they liked it, or something. But I didn't even get any comments on it, so I don't even know if the person I saw using the icon is the one that cropped it. They could have gotten it from someone else who is claiming it as there own. *EDIT* Okay, so she's crediting in her fic post, but only the fic posted in the community the wallpaper was originally in. Would it kill people to ask permission, or even comment saying they liked the original piece?

Course, I could find out by asking them, but I'm too non confrontational for that.

So painfully true. I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face by the time it was over.

There is something seriously wrong with this monitor. Things that are nice and dark at the top are so pale they are almost white at the bottom.

My icons look totally different depending on where on my monitor they are.

For example:


I had to eyeball them but thats pretty darn close to how different it is. It's really not that noticeable till some posts a table or large graphic that covers the whole space.

I just finished watching all of season 1. I had forgotten how much I loved this show. I haven't seen it since it first aired.

But damn it all to hell. I can't believe I've forgotten how the finale's cliffhanger is resolved, and my torrent download is only 3% through the first ep of season 2.

I was looking at some of the promo pics for Dan Radcliffe's new play, Equus, link and link (not really NWS, but it's pushing it). I then looked at my header (jadeleopard) and I realized something. Lucius and that horse have almost the same colored hair/mane.

Hubby did it! Xvid works now! He had to modify the .inf file, but it works. Wierd thing though? WMM only shows ffdshow audio, and avi decompressor on the compatibility tab, but now it plays my avis fine.
